FLOWING SWIMMING MOVEMENT HALL

"INDOOR SWIMMING POOL" - DIPLOMA THESIS ARCHITECTURE
submitted to the Leopold-Franzens-University INNSBRUCK
with PROF. VOLKER GIENCKE, January 2001

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The topic "swimming hall" has as background a tender of the city of Madrid, in the district of Mortalaz.

CONCEPT:
Bathing is celebrated in this building - from cleaning, pleasure & relaxation to sporting activity, it is spatially addressed.
Movement through the space is fluid and similar to walking into the sea, visitors slowly glide into the pools. Slightly ascending ramps lead to the next level and the next water pool. Transparency and visibility of the indoor swimming pool are intended to reinforce its public character.
A public space for all.
