"CITIZENS PARK VIENNA WITH LIGHTING TOWER AND LAKE", award ceremony 2020

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The area is located between Westbahnhof, Felber-, Avedik- and Linzerstraße. In the center separated by large-scale railway tracks. On the edge there are halls. It is planned to remove vacant buildings and the associated tracks. The resulting area will become a landscape, cultural and educational park - a circular walk through the new green lung - the BÜRGERPARK WIEN:

VISION:
Epidemics and climate catastrophes will significantly change the working and living situation in the future. Fresh food, clean water and energy are essential. In addition, personal mobility is important. Also important is the need to experience art and culture together!
The CITIZENS' PARK VIENNA remains open as a place of refuge for people in times of crisis. Here, the citizens' need for nature, exercise, education, culture and meaningful activity is fulfilled.

POTENTIAL FOR CHANGE AND ACTIVATION:
By activating the area, the opportunities and functions offered, all interested Viennese, autonomy, help for self-help and self-sufficient systems can learn. The resulting sense of community promotes appreciation for our environment and living beings. Solidarity in times of crisis thus becomes a matter of course. The concept is based on a non-commercial, non-profit idea which needs the help of all for a new sustainable way of life.
